The Vivo X Fold is here. This is the second folding phone from a BBK-owned company, after Oppo’s Find N that launched last year. China’s BBK Group owns Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus and Realme. Vivo X Fold takes on Oppo and Samsung’s folding phones. While Samsung’s folding phones’ series Fold and Flip have global presence, folding devices from Oppo and Vivo are so far China exclusive. The Vivo X Fold has two screens — there’s a 6.53-inch AMOLED display outside and a folding 8.03-inch AMOLED E5 display inside that opens like a tablet. Both offer 120Hz refresh rate and are HDR10+ ready. The folding display uses SCHOTT UTG (ultra thin glass). Schott is the same company that manufactures Samsung’s UTG.

Is there a fingerprint sensor on screen

Yes, unlike other foldable phones, there are two in-display fingerprint scanners on Vivo X Fold. Both are ultrasonic scanners. The company claims that the inside screen is crease-free.

Vivo claims the hinge to be of aircraft-grade floating wing. It allows the Vivo X Fold to close flat, and rotated at angles between 60 and 120 degrees (like a laptop).
